The program of 4 thematic cinema assemblages presents the shearing of short “youth” films of the most developed European cinematographs among which especially German, French, Finnish, Dutch and, of course, Ukrainian component. 
The main task of «Youth» festival is favoring the development of young professional cinema. On the festival debuted such recognized European directors as: Gaspar Noe, Tom Tikver, Denny Boil, Loran Bunik, Alexei Balabanov, Shona Auerbah, Denis Evstigneev, Jack Odiar, Dmitriy Meshiev, Valeriy Todorovskiy, Fransua Ozon, Stiven Doldri, Sergei Masloboischikov, Bilge Jairan, Bruno Dyumon and many others.
In 1993 International Federation of Associations of Cinema Producers (FIAPF) has officially registered «Youth» as the festival activity of which fully corresponds to the international standards. The festival reflects dynamics of development of the most important local and world tendencies of youth cinematograph. In 2007 on the festival took place projections of 400 films from almost 50 countries of the world and it was already fifth time that the festival educational project «Kyiv Talents Studio» (more than 300 «students») was held. Besides pure cultural projects «Youth» also deals with distribution and is one of the biggest Ukrainian rent organizations specializing in «art house» art cinema. During 2007 in all Ukrainian rent more than 40 film-strips were shown.
In October, 2008 the 38^h «Youth» festival will take place. The competition program as always will include sections of student’s short films (fiction, anime and documental) and first full-length fiction film. Out-of-competition program of the festival will traditionally consist of serial of programs that present best achievements of the newest national and world cinema art and also retrospectives of leading masters of the world screen and the biggest cinema schools of the world.
