«Creation ofthe World», authors: Tamara Kvisitedzhta, Matviy Weisberg
Art changes life andenriches it with new experiences, colors and substance. This must bebecause great pieces are created by people whose feelings are bundlesof emotions and their energy carries towards the observer.
The "Bottega" Gallery is pleased to present for the first time in onedisplay the canvases by the Pleiad of Modern Geniuses - TamaraQuisitege and Matviy Weisberg. Their works fill the world with a uniqueenergy substance that seems to form itself as a manifestation of theartists' inner expression.
Weisberg's «7 Days» series, which consists of 7paintings, is the artist's incarnation on linen of his originalinterpretation of the biblical story of God's creation of the earth, which took place over 7 sacred days.
"This is not a holy story but a story of the everyday, not theologicalscholasticism but a chronicle, analytical and cognitive, as always isthe case with Weisberg. Time remains his only character; time ofexistence and catastrophe: orderly and chaotic, lethal and life-giving,incomprehensible, plastic, the ecstatic black and golc "darkness abovethe abyss" from which, attuned to the regular rhythm of the squarepattern, new elements of life, recreated in contour and color, emergeevery day"
Andriy Makrousov
Then God said. "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea. and over the birds of the air, and over thecattle, and over aU the earth, and over every creeping thing thatcreeps upon the earth." So God created man in His own image, in theimage of God He created him; male and female He created them. And GodWessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fillthe earth and subdue it* and have dominion over the fish of the sea andover the birds of the air and over every Irving thing that moves uponthe earth."
Bible. Old Testament.Genesis 1:26-28
The works by Tamara, the other participant of the project, seem to complement and illustrate Weisberg's colorful account of the sixth daywhen the Lord created MAN.
Tamara's enigmatic sculptures are an original model of that newty-created man which the Lord divided in half and these two halvestorn apart are doomed to eternal wandering in search of each other, andit is predetermined that they cannot unite ever again. They come closerto each other, meet become a single whole for a moment...and then driftapart. It is a conditional model of our whole life, its tragedy and, atthe same time, its inevitable regularity that is so brilliantly Iquoted m Tamara's striking installations.
