Two different (at
firstglance) projects are united by the idea of the honest face of
Ukrainianrealities. Here and now, simple reflection. Because a little
more andcontemporary art, with its installations, projections and
visions, willchange into a glittering attraction, only in
thegalleries. Surprise us!" No, we don't want to.
Nottoday. Today we offer the only honest way out: to take this reality
andchange it into the circus that some people call "contemporary art"
-for your pleasure, we proudly present the Sorochinsky Fair of the
newage!
The "Genometer" Project is a slot machine, which for 50 cents
willdetermine for you the presence of the national identity gene. How
muchlonger can we argue whether or not Ukrainians are
self-sufficientnation? How much longer can we dig in archives,
searching for thehistorical trutn - as if this solves anything? Isn't
it easier just tochoose as the starting point the genotype of the great
Kobzar (thedefinitive Ukrainian poet, artist, revolutionary] and to
determine thepresence of "pure" Ukrainian genes in every recipient. At
er all, humancloning is in the near future, so wny not define the
"Ukrainian breed"and our relation to it now?

Project "Traps for the Unnecessary" Vagrants,
invalids, pensioners, homeless children - it seems
that all of them are the ballast of the Ukrainian state. If not, then
why do scrap-metal purchase points, where poor people bring sewer
hatches while other people fall in the open pits, still work? Why can
homeless children easily buy glue and cigarettes, while pensioners die
in the artificially created lines? Isn't it more honest to say: "Yes,
these people are unnecessary. Let's get rid of them!" And pass the
appropriate laws. The Project "Traps for the Unnecessary" is a proposal
by an independent advertising agency for advancing products that
destroy the problems of Ukrainian social at their roots.
